Judging Springboard with USW

The Springboard Programme

For the third consecutive year our Founder & Creative Director, Kevin Mansell-Abell, was invited to sit on the judging panel of the latest round of Springboard applications for the University of South Wales.

Taking place at the Studio at the Cardiff Campus, a shortlist of entrepreneurs who are embarking on and expanding their entrepreneurial journey were pitching for investment in their ventures - supporting them to reach their next milestone.

From a range of industry sectors including product design, sound, film and VR, the ambition and enthusiasm of the applicants was fantastic to see and hear - reminiscent of the startup journey of our own agency.

Kevin explained:

"It's fantastic to see programmes like this that show USW's commitment to supporting and growing entrepreneurship with students and graduates of the university.

The support package available now through USW and their partners is a world away from the support on offer when we started That Media Group - I'd encourage anyone who's thinking of starting or growing a business to take that first step."

Following a day of judging applications and pitches, together with the support of Big Ideas Wales, thousands of pounds were awarded by the panel to help kick start several of the graduates take the next steps in their startup and business growth.

We are excited to watch and support their journey to success and as part of our commitment to supporting startups, continue to offer our own giveback programme. More information can be found here.
